A.V. Bedser 5-105 v AustraliaBack to boards

Alec Bedser’s second five-wicket haul at Lord’s came against Australia in 1953.

In conditions not suited to him, Bedser nevertheless stood out as the most dangerous bowler.

His victims included the captain Lindsay Hassett (after he had made a century), and Arthur Morris, a close friend of Bedser and who was unfairly known as ‘Bedser’s Bunny’.

Bedser took another three wickets in Australia’s second innings as the match ended in a dramatic draw.
