Ben Stokes’ record-breaking innings to seal his first-ever appearance on the Lord’s Honours Boards was simply one of the finest innings the Ground had ever seen.
In the first innings, Stokes was eight-short of his debut ton at Lord’s, but was cruelly bowled by Mark Craig as England finished their innings 389 all out.
However, the all-rounder was determined not to miss-out in the second innings, blistering to a sensational century off just 58 balls.
The knock was the fastest Test century by an Englishman for more than 100 years and indeed, the fastest by anyone in history at Lord's.
Stokes gained another spot on the Honours Boards in 2017, when he took 6/22 vs West Indies.
