During the 2,000th Test match, Kevin Pietersen put on an excellent display of class to add his name to the Honours Boards for a fifth time.
After England had lost the toss and were put in to bat, Pietersen took full control of the host’s innings hitting 202 not out in a innings which including an impressive total of 21 fours and a six.
It was an innings which proved to be Pietersen’s final century at the Home of Cricket, but with England going on to win the historic Test by 196 runs, it was certainly a knock that will never be forgotten.
